The annual inspection was assessed and accredited our electrical standards by Ian Gwilliam, Inspecting Engineer for the NICEIC on 5th July 2018 using the Vattenfall Operations and Maintenance building in Pen Y Cymoedd as a case study site.

The project is the largest onshore wind farm in England and Wales and Vattenfall’s largest onshore wind farm. The wind farm is situated on Welsh Government land, managed by Natural Resources Wales, a key partner in the delivery of the project.

Of the £400mn investment to build the Pen y Cymoedd Wind Energy Project, 52% went to businesses in Wales, securing work for more than 1,000 workers in Wales over the past three years.

Phil Maybury, Managing Director, said “We are extremely proud to have been accredited for another year with the NICEIC. It was beneficial to use the Vattenfall site as we have been involved with ongoing works during the construction phase for the last five years. This latest round of works in conjunction with Denton Associates was for the provision of new office space to house the Vattenfall Cardiff Team.”

Ian Gwilliam, NICEIC Inspecting Engineer, said “I have been working with Tugbury Ltd for the last seven years. This was a very enjoyable assessment with a successful outcome and I look forward to much of the same next year.”
